History & Charitable Contribution
of the Scottsdale Charros

In 1961, The Scottsdale Charros were founded as a special activity organization of the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce and were specifically charged with the role of "promoting special events in the City of Scottsdale." Known as "Scottsdale's Goodwill Ambassadors," the Scottsdale Charros are an all-volunteer group of business and civic leaders who continue to be dedicated to serving the community through support and funding for youth programs, educational scholarships, grants to local charities and economic development that preserves the past while looking to the future.

Over the past 50 years, the Charros have leveraged several different events and developed innovative fund-raising resulting in millions of dollars donated to local no-profits making the Charros one of Scottsdale's largest philanthropic contributors.
